Vermont Memorable Winter Activities

Sterling Ridge Log Cabin Resort’s Vermont winter wonderland offers so much more than just the best skiing and snowboarding in northern Vermont!  The opportunities to explore, discover, and enjoy winter activities you’ll remember for years to come are as vast and unique as our winter playground here at Sterling Ridge Log Cabin Resort.

“Walking in a Winter Wonderland.” You don’t even have to leave the property at Sterling Ridge Resort (although you will have to step outside of your log cabin!) to discover the pristine beauty that surrounds you. Snowshoes are available and our trails are waiting for you! And because some of our log cabins are dog-friendly, your best friend can join you.

“In the meadow, we can build a snowman.” Or snow-woman- Anything your imagination will allow! Put away the cell phones and the laptops in favor of warm mittens and scarves to play together outside of your Vermont log cabin at the Sterling Ridge Resort…the old fashioned way!

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?” Who hasn’t dreamed of snuggling under a warm blanket in a charming sleigh drawn by horses?  Embrace winter and the beautiful sights and sounds of nature in the same way it was done in Vermont generations ago. Two local companies, Lajoie Stables sleigh rides and Pleasant Valley Sleigh Rides, are a amazing at what they do.

Over the River and through the Woods!”  While the guided tours offered by Green Mountain Snowmobile Adventures will not take you to Grandmother’s house, you will glide over rivers and through the woods on Sterling Ridge Log Cabin Resort’s beautiful groomed trails.  Tours by moonlight are offered, too. The evening tour will guide you over Smuggler’s Notch Pass with its truly breathtaking views to Mansfield Mountain (Stowe).  For a ride over the snow that is just as exhilarating (but doesn’t require a motor), guests at Sterling Ridge Log Cabins can arrange a custom dog sledding tour through Eden Dog Sledding upon availability.

“But Baby, it’s cold outside…” Don’t want to leave your cozy log cabin at Sterling Ridge Resort? Cuddle up with a good book and someone you love in front of your fireplace or wood-stove. And if you happen to nod off while enjoying the warmth and privacy of your quiet log cabin in the woods? Isn’t that what vacation is all about?
