Vermont Apples on the Tree

Third – apple picking! You can’t come to experience Vermont foliage without going apple picking. The scenic drives out to one of these Vermont orchards may be the best part! Check out Allenholm Farms or Hackett’s Orchards in South Hero and take a drive (or bike ride) along Lake Champlain. You can even head into Shelburne, Vermont and visit Shelburne Orchards. While visiting Shelburne be sure to visit Shelburne Museum. When visiting Sterling Ridge Log Cabins, be sure to ask for more apple orchard suggestions.

A Foliage Bike Ride

Fourth on our list of Vermont foliage ideas is the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. Walk, run or bike along the Lamoille River. This path, that was once a railway, served the people of Vermont from 1877 until its closing in 1994. Scenic vistas make this a favorite for seeing some of the best Vermont foliage.
