Vermont Update: Flooding and Rainfall

2023 Flooding Update: We are fortunate that the Sterling Ridge property was unaffected by the recent floods, allowing us to remain open.

On July 11, 2023, Vermont and other northeastern states experienced historic flooding and rainfall. Fortunately, due to our high elevation, Sterling Ridge property was not directly impacted by the rising waters. However, many communities throughout Vermont and surrounding states were impacted and will be experiencing effects for the foreseeable future.

What you need to know:

In affected areas, work is already underway to repair roads, homes, and businesses. Thankfully, Sterling Ridge has remained accessible through the flooding and the aftermath of infrastructure concerns. Major and local roads remain open and safe for travel, including those to and from our closest airport, Burlington International (BTV).

While many homes and businesses did experience water damage, many local restaurants and businesses throughout the state have already been able to reopen or were not directly affected. Local trails and community favorites also remain largely operational. For specific business information, please consult their websites and social media channels for the most accurate information.

How to Support Vermont

If you would like to aid in Vermont’s recovery efforts, consider making a donation to the VT Flood Response and Recovery Fund or to directly impacted towns, families, and businesses.

The state has recommended that efforts remain as local as possible. If you are in or near an affected area, please seek direction from your community leaders to learn the best ways to help those in your immediate area.

Whether you are a Vermont resident or someone who enjoys visiting, we all share a love of the Green Mountain State. Spreading that love by supporting Vermont’s local businesses and communities is what will get us to the other side of this difficult time for our state.

Should you have any questions regarding the current state of our resort and its surrounding area, please give us a call at 802-644-8265.

Vermont Strong, always!
