Events That Made 2015 Awesome!

Sterling Ridge Log Cabins Top 4 Favorite Events of 2015

Sterling Ridge Log Cabins has had several events that made 2015 wonderful for us. Not only did we welcome guests – returning and new – we opened up the grounds to the community with fun events for all to enjoy. Here is a list of our 4 most memorable events of the past year.
1. A Brand New Entrance Sign – Most of our guests come all different times of the year so have different experiences with us. This year, the one new event that will be enjoyed year round and every year, now was the installation of the new Sterling Ridge Log Cabins sign! We started the planning process for the sign in the summer and on a cool day in November, it went up.
2. Our Third Annual Easter Egg Hunt – Our Easter Egg Hunt is always a spring highlight, but his year it was featured on Fox 44 with Alaina Pinto. This event welcomes guests and the community to celebrate spring with fun gifts, candy and lots of other surprises. Egg hunters explored the resort’s trails looking for eggs and hoping to find one of a few ‘golden eggs’ which contained various prizes such as 50% off your next stay! The addition to this event was our “5 and under
field” for the younger egg seekers. Fun was had by all!
3. 5k Goes to The Dogs Mutt Strut – Our second annual fundraiser for North Country Animal League, which raised over $1100 thanks to sponsors and runners. The event which is a fun run/walk that takes dogs and their humans on a 5k (3.1 miles) journey through Sterling Ridge Log Cabins and picturesque back roads of Jeffersonville, VT. The 5k Goes to the Dogs is a great way for everyone, two-footed or four-pawed, to experience the beauty of Sterling Ridge Log Cabins. We have also had a big help from local business in our community: The Farm Store, Smugglers’ Notch Chamber of Commerce, Brown & Jenkins, Boyden Valley Winery, Pumpkin Harbor Designs, Laundry Lounge, Johnson Hardware, Green Mountain Snowmobile, Aubucheon Jeffersonville, Bass Fishing Vermont, Union Bank, Vermont Canoe & Kayak, The Family Table and Mondo Mediaworks!
4. 20th year of the Primitive Biathlon – Sterling Ridge Log Cabins hosted this excited winter event for 20 years! This past year we said goodbye to the friends and memories we have made with this wonderful annual event. Ray Saloomy, the “brainchild” of the Smugglers’ Notch Primitive Biathlon and with the help of Sterling Ridge Log Cabins, has been hosting this event since 1995 in conjunction with Smugglers’ Notch Area Chamber of Commerce. The Primitive Biathlon, is similar to the Olympic style event with the exception of modern-day target rifles and cross country skis, this event requires muzzleloaders (single barrel, traditional) and snowshoes (traditional wood-framed). Period dress is encouraged, but not required.

Thank you to all who have made 2015 events memorable and here is to new events and memories in 2016! Happy New Year!
