It’s always been exciting for me to open up a magazine and “WOW” there you are! Your local business featured as a CHOICE lodging property! So when I opened the September/October 2012 issue of Yankee Magazine featuring stories on Vermont fall foliage, my smile grew and I felt extremely proud of our once small Inn, now 19 cabin resort, a Choice Resort. Sterling Ridge Resort was picked as one of the “Best places to visit for Fall Foliage” by Yankee Magazine (on page 28.)

The story covers details about our beautiful walking trails, hikes to the high country, colorful drives through Smuggler’s Notch and of course, the mountain, our own Mount Mansfield. There are so many wonderful things about fall that it doesn’t mention. You’ll just have to come to The Ridge to experience it. Sometimes words just can’t capture the feeling.

Did you know that Vermonters have a fun term for those tourists who visit our state specifically to look at the leaves? We call them “leaf peepers” and no, we aren’t kidding. Leaf Peeping is a huge part of Vermont and the tourism industry here. Being recognized as a top Leaf Peeping destination is one we so take pride in and are honored by.
