Discover Vermont’s Handcrafted Libations

Lift your spirits with Vermont’s handcrafted libations. Explore Vermont by tasting your way through the countryside. Whether you’re looking for a savvy vineyard or a tasty cold brew, Vermont has got you covered!

Our guests at our log cabin resort in North Vermont are always intrigued by the popular Vermont craft beers such as Heady Topper, Magic Hat, and Long Trail beers. The handcrafted Vermont drinks can be found at more than 30 breweries in the Green Mountain State. Locally, we have 8 breweries within a short driving distance from Sterling Ridge – including Brewster River Pub & Brewery, Lost Nation, Rock Art, and Ten Bends.

Vermont Brewers Association

If you are a big beer connoisseur, check out the Vermont Brewery Challenge Passport, which provides beer lovers with a ‘passport’ to get stamped during visits to dozens of local breweries and brewpubs for prizes! Can’t find a designated driver for your own beer tour? Give Burlington Brew Tours a call or try a Brew Hop with bestinvt.com or 4pointsvt.com, a Stowe-based company that gives brewery tours.

Now that you have had a Vermont experience with handcrafted beers, why not try fine-crafted spirits? We are not talking about ghost spirits; we are talking about distilled beverages, liquor, hard liquor, or hard alcohol that is “produced by distillation of grains, fruit, or vegetables that have already gone through alcoholic fermentation.”  With distilleries nearby like Smugglers’ Notch Distillery, Caledonia Spirits/Barr Hill, and Green Mountain Distillery you will have your choice of handcrafted whiskey, gin, rum, and vodka. Take the statewide sip challenge at Distilled Vermont for your chance to grab a t-shirt!

Vermont Cabin Rentals

Some Sterling Ridge Log Cabin guests prefer handcrafted drinks a bit more sophisticated than just beer or spirits. We are talking about the “Nectar of the gods,” wine. The Smugglers’ Notch region boasts one of the very first licensed wineries in Vermont, Boyden Valley Winery & Spirits. Other wineries nearby include Snowfarm Winery in South Hero and Hillis Sugarbush Farm & Vineyard in Colchester. See the complete list of Vermont wineries registered with the Vermont Grapy & Wine Council.

Lastly, with all this drinking, we need to remind you to drink responsibly. The best way to sample and enjoy these handcrafted treats is to purchase them at the Winery, Distillery, or Brewery and bring them back to your very own cabin at Sterling Ridge Log Cabins!
