There sure are a lot of “Fs” in August around Sterling Ridge Resort! No—really! Because in our beautiful neck of the woods, August Festivals, Fairs, Food, Flea markets and old-Fashioned Fun!
The 7th annual Festival of the Arts, sponsored by the Cambridge Arts Council, will be held just down the road from Sterling Ridge Resort and Log Cabins on August 8th. This wonderful event will take place on Main Street in the charming Village of Jeffersonville and will feature an array of fine art.
A truly special and unique event, the Lake Champlain Maritime Festival, has something for everyone. A four-day celebration of “all things maritime,” the festival was given the distinction of being among the top ten summer events in Vermont by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce last year. Held in Burlington, you’re invited to meander along the shores of beautiful Lake Champlain to see classic boats, long boats, canoes, kayaks and more! There will be music and several shows that can’t be missed. Garrison Keillor brings his America the Beautiful Tour from the Prairie Home Companion to the show on August 6th. And there is something for auto enthusiasts, too! On August 7th through the 9th, antique auto buffs will want to head to Stowe for the 58th Annual Antique and Classic Car meet. This year, over 800 cars are expected to be on display, along with food concessions and a giant automotive flea market.
Also just a stone’s throw from our cozy log cabins at Sterling Ridge Resort is the Cambridge Music Festival, to be held on Saturday, August 29th in Jeffersonville. The event features New England based musicians, singers, and songwriters and all proceeds from this fantastic event benefit a local organization that supports the community. Enjoy great music while supporting a truly worthy cause.
Looking for a last hurrah before the kids go back to the classroom? The Champlain Valley Fair is the perfect way to celebrate the end of summer vacation. A part of the Champlain Valley Exposition, this wonderful tradition will be held from August 28th through September 6th. The fairground is in Essex Junction and features a midway, concerts, competitions and plenty of food and drink.
