Travel Notes
Vermont Route 108 from Stowe is CLOSED in the Winter, typically closing in November and re-opening in May. The Vermont Department of Transportation maintains a website updated with the latest road conditions, including the closure of VT Rt 108. Please check it for updates during bad weather. This road closure increases the road trip from Sterling Ridge to and from Stowe from roughly 30 minutes to roughly an hour.
Vehicle Recommendations
During the winter months, we strongly recommend a four-wheel drive vehicle and/or winter tires, as roads in our rural area can be snowy and icy, even with frequent and proper road maintenance.
If you are not driving to us in your personal vehicle, we highly recommend renting a car for your stay, as ride-share services like Uber, Lyft, and taxis are limited in our rural area.
