The Faces of Sterling Ridge Resort

The Staff at Sterling Ridge Resort welcomes new guests and looks forward to catching up with our returning guests. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff is part of the reason our guests return time and time again. Over the years, many employees have joined our Vermont resort family making Sterling Ridge Resort the friendly and inviting environment it is. Our hospitable staff helps to make Sterling Ridge an ideal Vermont getaway destination year after year.

Barb

Barb loves working alongside her family and friends. She enjoys welcoming new and returning guests to Sterling Ridge. In her free time, she spends time with her close friends, works out and plays with her cats.

Owner - George
George

George enjoys being outdoors and chatting with Sterling Ridge guests about his many hobbies: maple sugaring, hunting, fishing, and classic cars. He is also the Master Sugarmaker for Rock Maple Mountain/Snowshoe Pond.

George Jr.

George Jr.’s favorite thing about Sterling Ridge is the uniqueness of the log cabins and the mountain views. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, playing hockey, hunting, and making maple syrup.

Owner - Kirstin
Kirstin

Kirstin enjoys working with couples to create their ideal Sterling Ridge wedding, as well as designing and renovating cabins and homes. During her time off, Kirstin can be found reading, lifting weights, and spending time with family.

In Loving Memory

Willow, our beloved Bernese Mountain Dog, made her Sterling Ridge debut in 2018 as just a pup. From the very beginning, she quickly became part of the heart of our resort.

She loved greeting guests, collecting belly rubs and treats, and making everyone feel welcome. In her time off, she enjoyed long walks around the property and even longer naps in her favorite cozy spots.

Willow is a big part of why we remain a beloved pet-friendly mountain resort. Her sweet spirit helped create the warm, welcoming feeling so many guests remember from their stay in our northern Vermont cabin rentals. Though she is no longer with us, her paw prints remain all over Sterling Ridge Resort, and her memory continues to be part of every pet-friendly getaway we share.

In her honor, we invite you to bring your own pups along to experience the joy of a pet-friendly mountain escape. If your furry friend loves the great outdoors as much as Willow did, we’d love to welcome them to one of our northern Vermont cabin rentals.

She was deeply loved and will always be part of our story.

The Family Behind Sterling Ridge

We, the Salg family, have always loved Vermont. At our core, we are nature and animal lovers. We care about our community, support local businesses, and respect our environment. We believe in making time for family and friends. We believe in taking time to celebrate. To relax. To explore. To reflect. So when we learned that Sterling Ridge was a possible family venture, we knew we had to seize the once in a lifetime opportunity to share our core values with the world.

When you’re here, you’re a part of the family, and we take such pride in offering you a peaceful escape from the stresses of everyday life. We strive to protect our little slice of Vermont heaven, its natural tranquility, stunning mountain views, and endless land to explore. We strive to keep our cabins and homes comfortable and modern because that is what makes Sterling Ridge the ideal home-away-from home. The ideal destination for vacation, family gatherings, remote work, simple relaxation, or exciting adventure.

Since we (Barb and George Salg) became the owners of Sterling Ridge in July 2018, along with our son George and daughter-in-law Kirstin, we have poured endless time and hard work into maintaining the resort’s natural beauty, while making improvements to our cabins, homes, and the guest experience. All of our hard work, with the help of our wonderful staff, has been made incredibly worth it for the pure joy Sterling Ridge has brought our family and our guests.

We’ve experienced countless wonderful moments while meeting thousands of people from all over the globe. We’ve witnessed engagements by our pond. We’ve watched children grow taller each year. We’ve met adorable pups, and hosted amazing wedding celebrations. These memories are what make Sterling Ridge such a special place for us to work, live, enjoy, and share. It is the memories you make here that give Sterling Ridge meaning. From the warm welcome you receive when you check-in to the cleanliness and comfort of your cabin, we hope you feel totally taken care of when you are here.
