This
is a wonderful time at Sterling Ridge Resort to explore
many activities. Kids and adults love our heated
pool.
There are hiking
trails at Sterling Ridge or a challenging hike
on the Long Trail that will take you to the summit of
Mt. Mansfield, where you will experience breathtaking
panoramic views. A mellower approach to the day could
consist of a relaxing walk on our dirt road, through
a covered bridge, which leads to Brewster River Park.
If
you don't want to walk, take a bicycle ride through
beautiful pastoral farms and valleys, placed against a
glorious mountain backdrop. Mountain biking is offered
at Smugglers' Notch Ski area for those who prefer a more
rugged, wooded terrain.
You
can also take a scenic canoe
trip down the Lamoille River (class 1 water)
or enjoy a sunset beaver watch in early evening. Let
Green River Canoe schedule your trip.
Another
option is horseback riding ,
pony rides or carriage rides. Guided tours give you a
fun ride through woods and babbling brooks. Our scenic
rivers offer great trout
fishing and
unique "swimming holes" with water falls. Green Mountain
Troutfitters , just down the road, offers equipment and
a guide service to enhance any fishing
trip.
Stowe Village is nearby or as we say, "through the Notch".
A five mile recreational path is great for cycling, rollerblading
or walking. Nearby, one can find an alpine slide, rollerblade
park, and a gondola ride to the top of the ski hill on
Mt. Mansfield.
There are many unique craft shops, antique stores, and restaurants to
discover. A visit to Waterbury is a must, so that you can
tour the Ben & Jerry's ice cream factory.
